A gifted singer
and writer, Lisa has a distinctive voice and sound that remains with you.
…
Her passion for each song clearly shows through (and) creates a kind of
vulnerability that makes her and her music just that much more endearing.”
-Dan MacDonald, Cape Breton Post-

Lisa Cameron grew up in Margaree Forks on Cape Breton Island, Nova
Scotia and now lives in Judique. Raised in a musical household,
she has been singing and playing guitar on stage for many years.
Lisa released her first solo album, End of Blue, in 2004. The
record included 11 original songs and was co-produced by JP
Cormier. Following its release, Lisa toured to promote the album
in Eastern Canada and in the Eastern United States. In July 2005,
Lisa was asked to perform her rendition of “Hush Little Baby” for
a lullaby compilation called, Lullabies of Our Cape Breton. The
record won a 2006 ECMA for Best Children's Recording.
For the past couple of years, Lisa has been playing local venues
and writing with a small group of Cape Breton songwriters. She
released her second record in the winter of 2009. Through the
Winter is a collaboration of original winter themed songs that she
recorded with two other singer/songwriters.
She appeared with Sierra Noble and Carmel Mikol in a Celtic
Colours community event song circle in October 2009 and highlights
this year include a mini tour with Cape Breton artists Norma
MacDonald and Carmel Mikol in June and a Celtic Colours
performance at the Louisbourg Playhouse in October.

End of Blue does
not define itself as easily as the singer songwriter who describes herself
as a folk singer, but whose writing influences range from bluegrass (I'll
Take My Time), and country (Cheap Lipstick) to folk and other influences,
including a tender, poetic fragment titled Lilies and Candles.
- Frank MacDonald, The Inverness Oran
The album is full of rolling melodies and
straight-up tender lyrics about lost and found loves.
- Laura Graham, Halifax Herald
A treat for
country-folk fans, End of Blue is the result of a chance meeting
with multi-talented Canadian singer-songwriter J.P. Cormier. Friends
introduced them, he liked her songs and that led to the album, on which he
plays several instruments and helped to produce.

When you listen to
Lisa, you can actually hear where her musical influence and inspiration
comes from. Her voice sails over, under, and straight through melodies
reminiscent of Nanci Griffith, James Taylor, and Emmylou Harris. You are
immediately put at ease by her dulcet, melodic toning and creative
arrangements. Lisa's ability to engage her audience, highlights her
charming and intimate performance style.
